Each and every bird we take in, whether as a surrender or a rescue, needs to be placed in a foster home for a minimum of 30 days while the bird undergoes a health check quarantine period. During this quarantine period, they need a species-appropriate cage to call their own, new enrichment toys, a health check by a qualified avian vet, and to be transitioned to a healthy diet. This process requires not just time and love from our foster parents, but also money.
